Adding Events to Deventevents; General FAQ and Tips

??? How do I add an event?
Answer: There are 5 steps to add an event by entering:

  1. who you are, as the event organiser, and how you can be contacted.
  2. where your event is to be held - the venue - and all relevant information.
  3. who is speaking at your event, if anyone.
  4. the event's details including it's title, description, starting and ending dates and times, etc
  5. preview and confirmation.
Steps 1 to 3 specify generic information and should not include any event-specific information as this is what the event "Description" field is for in Step 4. By clicking "Add Event" in the Organiser menu above, you will be stepped through the process.

??? I want to update my event, how do I do that?
Answer: When you submit an event, an email is sent to you with a web address included that allows you to make changes to your event. Alternatively you can log in to the event organiser's page and that will allow you to view all your current events, update them, duplicate them or even delete them. Once you make changes to your event it will require re-approval before being displayed on the internet.

TIP: I have an event in different locations &/or dates. Do I really have to enter each one in individually?
Answer: No! Enter one event and then log in to the event organiser's page. In the event organiser's page you can duplicate your new event and it will copy all the details to a new event! Then simply make the appropriate changes.

??? I want to duplicate or delete my event, how do I do that?
Answer: Log in to the event organiser's page via which you can modify, duplicate and delete events. If you don't know your organiser id &/or password you can follow the options on the login page to automatically advise you of these details.

??? As an organiser, do I have to have a password?
Answer: No. However having a password will enable you to log in to the event organiser's page via which you can modify, duplicate and delete events. If you don't know your organiser id &/or password you can follow the options on the login page to automatically advise you of these details.

!!! I can't fill in a field: it is not relevant or I am not allowed to! What do I do?
Solution: Simply put something in the required field that fits the format, for example "n/a", and then let us know by sending us an email to: moderator@dentevents.com

!!! Why do I have to enter information into the required fields? Why must the information have to be the same format?
Answer: We are seeking to make the Dentevents calendar easy and relevant for everyone to use. For example, the Dentevents calendar is designed to be used by people worldwide. If nobody supplied their country code in their telephone number, then end users would be forced to research how to contact you or worse, may simply assume that the number is local to them.

!!! Why can't I do ...? Wouldn't it be better if?
Answer: We love feedback. Send your comments, frustrations, observations etc. to us and we will look in to it. We cannot promise that we can cater for everyone, but we can try.

!!! I accidentally deleted an event! Can I get it back?
Answer: Yes. For the moment, contact us.
